Permitted Development Rights to be Extended?
Plans to extend rules to enable office-to-residential conversions have been published by the Government.
The Department for Communities and Local Government said it will consider extending permitted development rights to May 2019, in a technical consultation on planning published this week. They were due to expire in 2016.
The Government intends to introduce a new PD Right after the existing one expires and in the interim those with PD Rights granted before the May 2016 deadline will still be able to implement them up until May 2019.
