PD Rights Approved in Bedford
Following the acquisition of a freehold office investment within Bedford town centre, whilst the intention of our clients is to re-let the property when it becomes vacant in July 2020, we implemented a strategy to underpin the value of the asset by obtaining the necessary permissions to allow a residential redevelopment to take place.
Working with Stephen Davy Peter Smith architects, we have successfully obtained Permitted Development Rights to convert the space into 12 residential units. The adjoining car park will now be subject to an application for a new build scheme of apartments, which allows our client the flexibility to develop or dispose of the property if a new tenant cannot be promptly secured.
